These are the terms an conditions for the web application I call TestPairs (http://testpairs.dk). The TLDR is that I am not liable for anything, and it tells you what data I store about you. If I change these terms and conditions in a significant way, I will let you know, and if you do not agree with the change, you can always just download your data and move on.
So here is the deal: TestPairs is a hobby of mine. It is not my day job, and I have developed it in my spare time. That also means that there is no guarantee of anything. Use the site at your own risk. I am not liable for any loss you may experience, and the site and all content may disappear suddenly without warning.
With that disclaimer out of the way, it is my intention keep the site up and further develop it for the forseeable future, and it is hosted, backed up and developed in a fairly professional maner - in my own oppinion.
TestPairs is built on the wep application framework Django, which is considered reasonably secure. It also uses industry standard encryption for communication between the server and your browser. I have also designed TestPairs so that users should not be able to access or edit each others data without consent. We can however all make mistakes, systems can be hacked, and no system is ever completly secure, so do not store sensitive or confidential data in TestPairs.
TestPairs stores very little data, other than what you enter yourself. I do keep track of your IP-address for 24-48 hours in order to handle potential denial of service attacks and actions of similar nature. Your current session will also be stored in a cookie on your computer. You can at any time delete your account, which will also delete all of your data from the main database. Your data will still be part of revolving backups for another 14 days, and as mentioned will I store the IP-address of the request you have made for 24-48 hours. Please be aware that, even though I am happy to help you with the site, if you have questions or feedback, I cannot offer to recreate your data if you delete your account, even if it is still in the backup stystem. The backup is setup to recover the entire site if a central component fails, not to recover individual accounts that was deleted by accident.
Like Newton suggested: We are all standing on the shoulders of giants. I could not have built TestPairs without a lot of software developed by other people. It can never be a complete list, but these are the highlights (in alphabetical order):
TestPairs is developed on a mac using VS Code for editing files.
